We would like to share the amazing news with you that TMT First have won 3 awards at the annual StokeonTrentLive Business Awards on 22 April.
The event celebrates the very best of business across Stoke and North Staffordshire and the awards recognise Business success from Technology and Innovation to Training and Growth.
We were up against some extremely talented and successful businesses and were chosen as finalists in 4 categories.
The event itself was held remotely and finalists, as well as their guests, joined the evenings’ proceedings online.
Emma Jesson was the host and finalists were introduced via online video. Recordings of each company and their premises highlighted their respective achievements to become finalists in categories.
Tensions grew in the virtual room when the first winner of the evening was announced. To our great delight TMT First were crowned the winner of the category of ‘Business in the Community’, which was sponsored by Rydale Roofing. We won this award for our lifelines4lovedones tablet donations, which helped people who were vulnerable and isolated in hospitals at the height of Covid-19 to stay in touch with family. Another supporting factor for this award was our Samsung Training academy, which is also helping to acquire truly amazing local talent into our business this year, thereby helping to empower local job-seekers gain valuable skills, and jobs within our company.
The second award win was in the category of ‘Science and Technology’, sponsored by Staffordshire University. This was awarded to TMT First for our innovative approach to repairing mobiles and developing our own technology and systems to better process devices and look after and integrate with our customers.
And then finally, just before we didn’t think the evening could get any better, we received the fantastic news that we were also announced winner for the top award of the evening ‘Business of the Year’. Everyone was absolutely thrilled. TMT First’s rapid growth over the past year, despite the huge challenges facing companies during the height of the pandemic, together with nearly doubling its workforce from 60 to 110 staff and financially hitting our target, currently up to £8m were all contributory factors for this very coveted Business award. Adam Whitehouse, our founder and CEO was amazed by all this recognition. He thanked all the staff for their hard work and dedication to the company and said that TMT First is extremely grateful to be able to give back to the community and help the local economy grow, benefitting everyone.
