Repair Technician Training
Repair Technician Training

Join Our Approved Training Academy

We established our training academy in 2020 – something we are very proud of.

Running in partnership with Samsung, we set it up to fill a skills shortage and to ensure there’s a pipeline of skilled technicians and engineers.

During a four-week intense paid training scheme our future technicians are trained and audited by Samsung themselves.

If they successfully graduate from the Academy, they will be offered a role within our Repair Centre with career progression opportunities and great terms and conditions.

Meet Tudor Ion - Our Head of Repair and Academy Founder

Tudor has worked with TMT for nearly six years now and moved to the UK from Romania, where he had extensive experience in the tech industry.

For the last 17 years Tudor has worked with the world’s biggest mobile tech manufacturers including Samsung, Huawei and Asus.

It was in Romania where the idea first came to light for a training academy.

He said: “I set up and ran training academies for the company I was working for there and it was to help people in disadvantaged areas to upskill and help fill a skills shortage. Through a mutual business contact I was introduced to TMT’s founder Adam, who persuaded me to move to the UK and take up a Head of Repair position at his company.

“I could see that because of the volume of mobile units we were repairing, we just didn’t have enough engineers to carry out all the repairs needed and I wanted to use the experience I had at home into creating something similar here.

Tudor added: “The Academy was founded in 2020 and has been designed to help us fill the skills shortage and create the next generation of engineers. During the four- week course attendees will learn everything from the theory and processes used to all aspects of the practical. It’s a paid training opportunity. For those that graduate they are guaranteed a role within our repair centre, with great career opportunities. Ideally, we would like candidates aged over 18, who have a genuine interest in technology and the right attitude. Candidates really don’t need to have experience in the industry as will give them all the training needed.”
