Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m married and have four children – three girls and a boy. We live in Walsall, so I commute to TMT every day. Outside of work I like keeping fit and go to the gym. Hobbies also include football and Formula 1.
Tell us about your job?
I’ve worked at TMT First for around two and a half years and as the General Manager I head up Operations, Logistics, Quality Control and Customer Services. I directly line manage eight staff and have overall responsibility for around 50.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I love the innovation side – I find it really exciting. We’re always striving for new ideas here. Adam (the founder) will come to us with a new project or innovation and as a team we have to work out how to make it happen. I really enjoy the problem solving, working through an idea and seeing it come to fruition.
What’s the hardest thing about your job?
It can be challenging work, trying to keep up with all the new ideas and projects that come to us and unfortunately, we don’t always have the time or resource to do every one of them. I find this frustrating sometimes, but it is great seeing the innovations that our team do make happen here.
What did you do before you joined TMT?
I’ve always worked in the same industry for various companies. I was with my last company for around 11 years and oversaw international operations.
What’s your ambition?
I am an ambitious individual and one day would like to be at Chief Executive level.
Tell us something no-one knows about you?
I’ve broken nearly every bone in my body – mainly through sport including feet, toes, hand, fingers, wrists, legs, ribs, skull and cheekbone!
And finally what’s your motto?
I’m a strong believer in anything is possible. There is always a solution to a challenge. I like to coach my team here by looking at a problem and working through how to solve it by taking one step at a time. Mindset is key for success.
