Embracing the Circular Economy: Extending the Lifecycle of Your Phone

In today's world, environmental sustainability is paramount. With growing concerns about the future of our planet and the species that inhabit it, it's crucial to explore ways to reduce our impact and preserve valuable resources. One key concept gaining traction is the circular economy, and here at TMT First, it's at the core of our mission.

The circular economy is all about recycling and reusing resources to minimise waste and maximise efficiency. It involves practices such as sending old clothes to charity shops, upcycling furniture, and selling items you no longer need. At TMT First, we embody the principles of the circular economy by focusing on recycling and repairing electronic devices.

At TMT First, we’re more than just a repair centre, we’re champions of sustainability. Accredited by both Samsung and Apple, our primary goal is to ‘keep technology alive for longer.’ By extending the lifecycle of mobile phones, tablets, wearables, and laptops, we reduce the strain on the planet’s finite resources. Our service centre processes approximately 250,000 products annually through repairs, software flashing, and grading, making us a cornerstone of the circular economy.

The average mobile phone goes through several users during its lifetime. From early adopters to second-hand owners, each stage prolongs the device’s usefulness. Premium devices like iPhone and Samsung Galaxy can last 6-8 years with proper maintenance, including repairs and battery replacements.

As the UK’s leading device service centre, TMT First combines cutting-edge repair technology with expert training to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions. Our commitment to excellence is further demonstrated through initiatives like the Digital

Device Repair Technician Apprenticeship, launched in 2024, which ensures our technicians remain at the forefront of device repairs. Additionally, we’ve partnered with Ecologi to plant a tree for every phone we repair and are in the process of acquiring the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard.

Before discarding your old tech, consider repairing it with TMT First. If repair isn’t feasible, we’ll responsibly recycle your device, salvaging usable components to minimize waste.

Join us in embracing the circular economy and making a positive impact on the environment—one repair at a time.
