TMT Apprenticeship Scheme

TMT First Joins the West Midlands Ambassador Network

On National Careers Week - we are delighted to announce that TMT First has joined the West Midland Ambassador Network - the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (AAN).

The network aims to raise awareness of apprenticeship programmes and highlight just how beneficial they can be for the apprentices themselves, employers and the wider economy.

By joining the network we have become an Apprentice Ambassador, alongside a large number of other business and organisations across the West Midlands. The aim is to actively promote apprenticeships and inspire more people to commit to them.

The network is made up of employers and current and former apprentices where ambassadors volunteer their time for free to inspire and motivate the apprentices of tomorrow.

Laura-Jane Wootton, Head of Human Resources at TMT First said: “Apprenticeship schemes are vitally important to us as an employer. We want to play a key role in helping attract the stars of the future – joining the network will help us do that. It will enable us to play a key part in raising awareness of apprenticeships as a career choice and the amazing opportunities they can provide not only for the students themselves but the employers as well. As a key driver in getting the National Digital Device Repair Technician Apprenticeship* launched, it’s really important that we help spread the message.

She added: “The network will give us the opportunity to share best practice in terms of apprenticeship delivery as well as being able to share ideas on how apprenticeships can help businesses and individuals themselves share success.”

*The Digital Device Repair Technician Apprenticeship will upskill and futureproof the next generation of digital repair technicians. It will also help bridge the severe skills gap in the tech industry.

Rapid technological advancements have escalated the demand for highly skilled professionals and the apprenticeship will offer comprehensive training that goes beyond standard repair techniques.

The skills and knowledge taught on the apprenticeship will create technicians who are not just experts in their field but who will play a huge part in helping the mobile device industry become more sustainable.
