TMT First Sponsors Local Hero Award

We are absolutely delighted to announce that TMT First is one of the proud sponsors of the Newcastle Borough Council’s Local Heros Awards.

This year we are sponsoring the Community Champion Award. The category has been set up to say thank you to someone who has done something special for their local community and who goes above and beyond to support the area.

There are three other categories in this year’s awards.

  • Young Hero: The award is for young residents under 21 years of age.  This person will have made a significant contribution to their community, perhaps through volunteering, environmental projects or other work.
  • Sporting Hero: The award is for residents who make a significant contribution to sports development or sporting achievement in the Borough. It could be an outstanding individual, team member, coach or leader.
  • Lifetime Achievement: The award recognises and celebrates a resident who has persistently and tirelessly championed a cause or community project which has had long term and sustainable impact on the Borough.

TMT First Founder and Chair Adam Whitehouse said: “As a business based in Newcastle-under-Lyme we feel it is really important for us to champion and celebrate the area.

“The awards are in their second year and we look forward to celebrating those people within our communities who give their time, energy and enthusiasm to make a difference to the lives of those around them.

He added: “These awards are a real opportunity to celebrate those members of the community who go and above beyond to support the area in which they live. We are proud to be sponsoring the Community Champion Award and are looking forward to attending the awards ceremony to celebrate all those nominated.”

The Council introduced the awards last year as part of their commitment to celebrating the future of the Borough, as well as commemorating its history. They form part of the council’s year-long celebrations of the 850th anniversary of Newcastle-under-Lyme’s incorporation as a borough. The awards evening take place later this month.
