Meet Mark – TMT’s Service Manager

Meet Mark – Mark is our Client Development Manager. With over 25 years of experience in the mobile industry, Mark shares insights into his role, his passion for sustainability, and his love for golf, travel, and fine dining.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m married, with a 17-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old son. I have over 25 years of experience in the mobile industry B2B channel. Outside of work, I enjoy socialising, playing golf, travelling to European cities, and fine dining. I’ve been a member of Leek Golf Club for over 20 years, still working on getting my handicap down. I’ve had the privilege of dining at some amazing European restaurants. Two of my favourites are the two Michelin starred Lorenz Adlon Esszimmer at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, and Tom Kerridge’s The Hand and Flowers in Marlow. The experiences at both are unforgettable.

Tell us about your job?

I head up business development for services at TMT First, with a focus to grow the B2B channel.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

After working in new device distribution, it’s great to now focus on the circular economy and the carbon benefits that come with it. It’s rewarding to be part of something that truly makes a difference in terms of sustainability and cost savings.

What’s the hardest thing about your job?

Generating new channels and business can be challenging. It’s tough to get past gatekeepers and sometimes, legal processes and negotiating supplier agreements can be time-consuming and tedious, but they’re necessary for growth.

What did you do before you joined TMT?

I’ve always worked in mobile hardware distribution in a B2B capacity. Before joining TMT First, I worked at Exertis for 14 years as the General Sales Manager for the mobile business unit, where I led the sales teams.

What’s your ambition?

I aim to use my experience in the mobile device sector to help drive TMT First forward and contribute to the company’s growth.

Tell us something no-one knows about you?

I’m a very private person, so I’d say: If you know me, you know; if you don’t, you won’t!

And finally, what’s your motto?

Don’t worry about what you can’t control.
