February is a busy month for awards at TMT First. Not the glamourous black-tie events or walking the red carpet, it’s the time for hard work behind the scenes to complete the submissions for the Mobile News Awards. The oldest ceremony in the mobile phone calendar, the Mobile News Awards are often considered the most prestigious.
What Have We Entered?
The 2026 awards celebrate achievements in 2025 and this year TMT First has entered a record five categories. Last year we received three commendations for our efforts and this year we have our sights set on going one better. The awards we have entered are:
- Best Refurbishment Programme – targeting organisations that refurbish and sell phones to consumers, our consumer brand Meelie Mobile ticks all the boxes. Meelie offers competitive trade in prices and phones for sale go through extensive checks and refurbishment. Each sold with up to 2 years warranty.
- Best Lifecycle Initiative – is for organisations managing multiple lifecycle stages. TMT First is the only UK business to offer services for every stage in the circular tech economy. From recycling to repair, data wiping to grading, refurbishment to eco-friendly disposal.
- Best Secondary Market Facilitator – working with a variety of organisations from networks to retailers, emergency services to insurers; TMT First facilitates the secondary market and keeps the wheels of the circular economy turning.
- Best Secondary Market Provider – TMT First not only powers the secondary market but directly delivers services to trade clients and consumers. With our extensive accreditations from OEM’s, ISO’s and more we continue to set standards.
- Best Service & Repair Partner – holding direct partnerships with Apple, Microsoft and Samsung, plus our own academy for training technicians, TMT First is the leading repair centre. From innovative repairs to industry leading returns rates, we process 250,000 devices per annum!
Supporting our Submission
Telling the judges what we have achieved is just one part of our submission. Testimonials from suppliers and clients are essential to reinforcing our entries and giving independent testimony to our service.
It’s also important we make the judges aware of our public feedback, such as Meelie Mobile’s 4.6* rating on trust Pilot (based on 5,000+ reviews), plus another 4.6* rating from BackMarket (based on 1,000+ reviews).

As anyone will tell you, awards do not define an organisation – but it is nice to receive recognition from your peers. In 2025 TMT First was the proud recipients of the King’s Award for Innovation in Enterprise and the Mobile Industry Awards – Best Repair Service.
