At Last!
On Thursday March 19, the Mobile News Awards took place at the Hilton Park Lane in London. The oldest and most coveted of the technology awards, TMT First had entered five awards and had been shortlisted for all five.
However, no one at TMT First was taking anything for granted, last year we were shortlisted for four awards and went home with four commendations, but no award. Would this year be any different?
Yes!
Everything changed at the 2026 awards where TMT First took home not one, but two Mobile News Awards!
What Awards did we Win?
Of the five awards TMT First had been shortlisted for, the two we won were:
- Best Refurbishment Programme – targeting organisations that refurbish and sell phones to consumers, our retail brand Meelie Mobile ticks all the boxes. Meelie offers competitive trade in prices and phones for sale go through extensive checks and refurbishment. Each sold with up to 2 years warranty.
- Best Secondary Market Provider – TMT First not only powers the secondary market but directly delivers services to trade clients and consumers. With our extensive accreditations from OEM’s, ISO’s and more we continue to set industry standards.
What the Judges Said
Firstly, the two categories in which we won awards were highly competitive with 6 and 7 submissions in each, meaning the winner really had to prove themselves!
The submission itself comprised of several questions which required detailed answers and evidence. These answers were then scrutinised and evaluated as part of the judging process.
Following TMT First’s double victory at the Mobile News Awards the judges praised our Academy and Technician training, Samsung partnership, warranty, sustainability values and customer satisfaction ratings. They also praised our Innovation, acknowledged the King’s Award and our customer base.
A Team Effort
To win any award is a team effort, you can’t produce a good submission without strong facts and performances to write about. You can also say ‘the company is great’, but only testimonials and consumer ratings can prove it.
To be recognised by your peers is particularly rewarding, not only reinforcing our own beliefs but also receiving third party validation. TMT First will continue to develop, innovate and make sure we have a strong story for 2027.
