IT Asset Disposition

Beyond Repair: We Have Launched a New Approach to IT Management

We are delighted to share that TMT First is expanding its services, continuing our mission to keep technology alive for longer.

Our new IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) department marks a significant step forward. While we have built our reputation on the repair and refurbishment of mobile devices, tablets and wearables we are now extending our expertise to include larger volumes of laptops, PCs and business IT equipment.

This move is designed to help businesses and government departments save money, strengthen data security, and support sustainability goals.

TMT First Founder, Adam Whitehouse, explains:

“Extending device life is only half the story. Responsible IT disposition and reuse can unlock budget savings, reduce risk, and support sustainability goals across the public sector. Too often, devices with years of life left are replaced simply because they are not the latest model. At TMT First, we have challenged that for years by keeping technology alive for longer, and now we are taking the next step.”

What Does ITAD Mean in Practice?

Secure data handling: Every asset is tracked from collection to final disposition. Certified erasure tools remove all data, and tamper‑evident certificates are issued per asset. Media that cannot be wiped is physically destroyed with full evidence provided.

Maximum reuse and value recovery: Laptops, desktops, servers, and peripherals are tested, graded, and refurbished. Where possible, they are redeployed or remarketed, reducing costs and cutting demand for new hardware.

Transparent reporting: Clients receive detailed audit trails and erasure certificates for every asset.

Sustainable outcomes: Devices beyond reuse are responsibly recycled in-house or via accredited partners, ensuring valuable materials are recovered.

Why This Matters for Government

Budget impact: Reuse and resale offset costs and reduce capital spend.

Risk reduction: Certified processes and auditable records safeguard sensitive data.

Measurable sustainability: Extending device life directly reduces carbon emissions and electronic waste.

Adam added:

“If we can help keep technology in service for longer and, when the time comes, dispose of it responsibly, everybody wins. Costs come down, risk comes down, and waste is reduced.”
