TMT First were proud sponsors of the Midlands Climate Expo and Sustainability Conference this month.
This year’s Expo saw more than 500 people from business, local government, academia and industry gather together at Alton Towers to explore leadership, innovation and impact in an evolving industry landscape.
Our Founder Adam Whitehouse, who is also the Chair of the Staffordshire Business and Environment Network (sben), was invited to speak on the panel. The theme was exploring the emerging role of artificial intelligence in tackling climate change.
The event brought together exhibitors, expert speakers, hands-on workshops, as well as providing networking opportunities for professionals, businesses and public sector organisations.
The event’s Keynote speaker was Mary Portas, known for her work transforming the UK high street. She spoke about why purpose must be at the heart of the future economy, and how business can be a powerful driver of climate action.
Other speakers included:
- Lizzy Carlyle – Head of Climate and Environment National Trust
- Phil Murphy – Managing Director, Hoar Cross Hall
- Dare llori – Group Sustainability Director Merlin Entertainments
- Joan Walley – Former Stoke-on-Trent MP

TMT First’s mission is simple: keep technology alive for longer. By repairing, refurbishing, and reusing devices, we help reduce waste, conserve precious resources and make technology more affordable and sustainable for local people and businesses.
Founder and Chair Whitehouse said: “For us supporting the Climate Expo was about more than showcasing innovation – it was about standing alongside our Staffordshire community to highlight the role our region can play in building a greener future. We believe Staffordshire has the talent, creativity and determination to be a leader in sustainable practices, and we are excited to be part of the journey.
He added: “I was delighted to be given the opportunity to speak on the panel about AI, listen to the other panel members’ insight, as well hearing the fantastic range of speakers. Being alongside industry leaders and university academics was fantastic and by collaborating we can inspire, change, create opportunities and make our county a true hub of innovation and sustainability.”
