TMT First is at the heart of the circular economy, ‘keeping technology alive for longer’ through a combination of repairs, refurbishment and innovative solutions. We believe that technology and the environment can work together for a sustainable future.
To bring the circular economy to life and highlight the role of TMT First in reducing carbon emissions and ‘keeping technology alive for longer’ we have created a short infographic to take you through the cycle.
Stage 1: Creating the Device
From raw materials, to design, production, distribution and consumption the average mobile phone leaves a carbon footprint of 45kg.
Stage 2: Repair or Replacement
At the point where the device goes wrong, there is a decision to be made, this is where TMT First step in.
Stage 3: Repair, Refurbish & Repurpose
TMT First demonstrate ‘keeping technology alive for longer’ with a huge carbon saving through a repair not replace philosophy.
Stage 4: Recycle
A device cannot live forever and may go through the circular economy a number of times before recycling. At TMT First we strip out precious metals and ensure nothing goes to landfill when the time comes.
