The awards celebrate the very best learners, trainers, providers, educators and employers in the region and were open to any apprentice or organisation based in and around Wolverhampton, the Black Country and Staffordshire region.
We scooped the Education and Engagement Award for the development of the Digital Device Repair Technician Apprenticeship.*
The category recognises those organisations that go that extra mile to engage with the community around them to help shape the future workforce so we are absolutely thrilled to have been recognised for the work we have done to get the apprenticeship off the ground.
Founder Adam Whitehouse said: “It was a great evening and we were delighted to be acknowledged for the work we have done with other businesses, partners, education providers and the community to get the apprenticeship, designed, developed and now delivered.
“It’s took 18 months to create and launch and to see it come to fruition, helping upskill the next generation of mobile device technicians, as well as providing tangible job opportunities has taken a lot of hard work. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped bring it to life, especially our Head of HR Laura-Jane Wooton for chairing our fantastic Trailblazer Group. It was great to see all the hard work recognised. Congratulations to all the other winners too!!
The awards which were held at West Bromwich Albion Football Club and had eleven categories including, Apprentice of the Year, Employer of the Year and Training Provider of the Year.

The Digital Device Repair Technician Apprenticeship was launched at |TMT First in February and has been rolled out nationally. In partnership with the Institute for Apprenticeships Tech Education (IfATE), it follows months of hard work with a range of partners to get the standards created for the 21-month qualification. It’s hoped in its first year, at least 40 apprentices will join the scheme, with the aim of increasing it year on year.*
