TMT First has been shortlisted for not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 Mobile Industry Awards! Taking place this September 18th at the Royal Lancaster in London, it is one of the most prestigious nights in the tech calendar.
Last year TMT First received the Award for ‘Sustainability Initiative of the Year’, acknowledging our work in reducing the number of components used in a phone repair. To date we have saved over 30,000 batteries from being replaced, reduced customer repair bills by over £2m (by using less components) and 2,000,000kg of carbon by ‘keeping technology alive for longer’.
This year we have submitted four entries and have been selected as finalists in the following categories. We have our fingers and everything else crossed…
Best Place to Work – from the serious stuff like training and development to the fun stuff including our Summer and Christmas parties, we believe TMT First is a great place to work. The team contribute every day to our success and we aim to reward accordingly. Our employees also step up to raise money for charity including sky diving and bungee jumping, creating a positive culture and driving the business forward.
Sustainability Initiative of the Year – following up from last year, our Mobile Component Repair initiative has gone from strength to strength, continuing to save money for our customers and reduce carbon emissions through a reduction in parts required and fewer devices classed as beyond economical repair. Samsung has rolled out this process globally!
Best Recycling and Refurbishing Service – we may be best known as a repair centre, but we also recycle obsolete and broken phones, stripping the precious metals and plastics for recycling. We also refurbish old devices, giving then a second (or third) lease of life by swapping batteries, repairing displays, polishing out scratches and reducing screen burn.
Best repair Service – last year we added Microsoft to our direct relationships with Apple, Samsung and JCB Toughphone. Repairs continue to be our core business and the skills we have by running both our own Apprenticeship and Academy ensure we are the very best repair centre there is.
Regardless of whether we are successful at the awards we will continue to deliver a world class service for our clients. Our recent client survey scored TMT First as 4.7 out of 5 and we will endeavour to not only maintain the standard by improve it further.
