That’s why as a company we have pledged to plant a million trees over the next ten years in response to the very real climate emergency we are all facing.
For every mobile device we repair we will plant a tree.
Through our partnership with Ecologi we have joined other like-minded businesses and individuals around the world who have come together with the ambition of each planting a million trees over the next decade.
So far more than 47 million trees have been pledged globally and we would love to see more businesses sign up to it.
Our founder Adam Whitehouse said: “COP27 which was held this month saw more than 100 heads of states and Governments come together in Egypt to discuss climate change on a world stage. The message that came from the convention was abundantly clear – that drastic action was needed to tackle the global challenge of climate change.”
He added: “The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is reported as saying that the planet is still in the emergency room and that emissions need to be drastically reduced now. We all need to do all we can to help reduce or offset Co2 emissions. That’s why as a business we felt it was so important to sign up to the million-tree pledge. Planting them will help draw down millions of tonnes of C02, which will in turn help slow down climate change as well as restoring biodiversity to areas that have become deforested.”
Adam explained: “TMT’s mission is ‘To keep consumer technology alive for longer’ The activities we undertake to achieve this are ‘repair and refurbish, recycle and repurpose, resell and redistribute, replant and reforest,’ so to sign up to the pledge is very apt for our business.”
Charli Adamson, Founding Member, Million Tree Pledge said: “We are delighted TMT First have joined the Million Tree Pledge and committed to planting 1 million trees in response to the climate emergency. This collective of businesses and ambitious individuals has pledged to plant 47 million trees, over 8.5 million of which have already been funded for planting.
So far across TMT First and its consumer business Meelie over 13,000 trees have been planted and that figure is growing month on month.
