Staffordshire Day at the House of Commons

Staffordshire Day at the House of Commons

Earlier this month, TMT First was proud to be invited to represent Staffordshire at the Staffordshire Day Marketplace event held at the House of Commons. Organised by We Are Staffordshire, the event formed part of the county’s 10th anniversary celebrations and brought together a select group of Staffordshire businesses to showcase innovation, expertise and economic strength on a national stage. Being chosen to attend was a real honour and a great opportunity to represent both TMT First and the wider region.

Why Staffordshire Day Matters

Staffordshire Day is about celebrating the people, businesses and organisations that make the county such a strong and distinctive place to live and work. The House of Commons event provided a platform to highlight Staffordshire’s contribution to UK industry, innovation and sustainability, while creating space for meaningful conversations with policymakers and decision‑makers.

By taking Staffordshire to Westminster, the event helped ensure that regional voices, challenges and opportunities are heard at the highest level.

Showcasing Responsible Technology

At TMT First, sustainability and responsible technology reuse sit at the heart of what we do. Throughout the day, we spoke with MPs about the growing challenge of tech waste and the role refurbishment and reuse can play in reducing carbon emissions, cutting unnecessary costs and extending the life of devices already in circulation.

These conversations reinforced the importance of the work we do with public and private sector organisations, helping them adopt more sustainable, cost‑effective approaches to managing technology.

A Platform for Collaboration

The Staffordshire Day Marketplace brought together businesses from across manufacturing, education, culture, food and drink, and technology. It was a hugely positive environment, sparking new connections and reinforcing the strength and diversity of the Staffordshire business community.

Events like this demonstrate the value of collaboration between businesses, local authorities and government in tackling shared challenges and unlocking new opportunities.

Proud to Represent Staffordshire

We were genuinely proud to represent Staffordshire at the House of Commons and to showcase the work TMT First does across refurbishment, sustainability and secure technology lifecycle services.

Our thanks to We Are Staffordshire for bringing the county’s business community together and creating such a valuable platform for connection, conversation and collaboration.
